What I look at first
Content becomes expensive when every post starts from zero. A content system creates repeatable pillars, formats, voices, production rules, distribution paths and feedback loops tied to a business objective.
- Content pillars
- Audience and topic research
- Platform roles
- Creator / voice selection
- Story and retention structure
- Distribution and repurposing
- Measurement and iteration
What I try not to do
I do not start by prescribing a platform, format or tactic simply because it is popular. The first question is whether that tactic addresses the actual constraint and whether the business can operationally support it.
What this can become
A clear diagnosis, a prioritised set of decisions and an execution-aware plan. Depending on the situation, that can mean repositioning an offer, rebuilding the acquisition path, changing the content system, improving measurement or deciding what not to spend time on.
Relevant example
My YouTube experience gives me first-hand exposure to packaging, retention and publishing discipline. Brand and campaign work adds the commercial layer: content should have a reason to exist beyond simply filling a calendar.
Evidence I would use
- Existing customer and campaign data
- Audience and content performance
- Funnel and conversion signals
- Customer conversations and objections
- Business economics and operational constraints
